Lauren

Lauren Enochs is a student at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health pursuing an MPH in Maternal, Child, and Family Health. She is passionate about all things public health, especially HIV, nutrition, and strengthening health systems. She loves being a part of Bright Minds and supporting sustainable change in the communities where we work.

Every two weeks, Lauren researches a different health topic at the request of our staff, looking at current trends and interventions in Nigeria and Cameroon. From her research Lauren creates trainings for our staff and facilitates discussions around the feasibility of such interventions and cultural considerations. She then works alongside our staff in planning our health interventions in these focus areas and conducting monitoring and evaluation. Lauren also works with Mirelle, our Nutrition and Child Health Officer, to determine treatment plans and conduct monitoring for our sponsored children. In 2022 she traveled to Cameroon to meet our staff and students and lead health trainings.
